Dutch Hydrographic Leisure 1800 Series Nautical Charts

The 1800-series charts are issued mainly for smaller SOLAS shipping (Safety Of Life At Sea) and recreational purposes. The series consist of 8 atlases with an average of 9 charts (loose-leaf). The charts cover the Netherlands and Belgian coasts, the Wadden Sea, the IJsselmeer and the Zeeland delta area.

Dutch Leisure 1800 Series Coverage

1800 Series no longer issued annually

In 2013, the Hydrographic Service stopped issuing the full 1800 Series annually. The Service had to find a way to cut back, while still carrying out its statutory SOLAS duties. The decision was taken to apply the same policy to the 1800 Series as to the other official products: a new edition is published if doing so is warranted by the contents.

Keep charts up to date yourself

Nautical charts become out of date as soon as they are published. Users must therefore always keep charts up to date by correcting them using the Notices to Mariners. The Hydrographic Service publishes these weekly on defensie.nl.
