Singapore ships are required to carry a prescribed official log book on board.

The official log book is to be returned to the Director of Marine if:

• all pages of the official log book are used up and a continuation official log book is used;
• there is a change of the shipowner or manager, together with a change of the entire existing crew on board
• the ship leaves the Singapore registry or there is a suspension of the ship’s registry
